MA exam work handed in
My exam work has been handed in today and I feel really positively about it, I am not going to think about it too much in case I remember things I forgot to do! On with the next section of the course now - the final show! I am excited about the plans I have and after a well earned rest look forward to getting started.

Hello there, my degree has been finished for a few weeks, have had my results and am very pleased with them. I have already been part of the Free Range show in London, it was such hard work and a lot of fun, great to get a peak at other artists finishing now too. I was interested to notice that the work of each university contained the same subjects done differently, there seems to be a subconscious trend going on.
Now it is time to organize my lounge making it a part studio so that I can get to work here making more art. I have been putting a lot of thought into what I will do next, carry on the same theme or start one of the ideas I have been thinking about for years. I'm sure I will know once I get the space ready to use. Also, anything I do will be better than doing nothing, I would rather have a go and get it wrong than do nothing.

A plan to change direction
So far in my working practice I have made drawings, which I love to do, that have been a tool for me to make paintings from. This worked, except my real passion comes from working in the space I would like to describe. I am now going to make drawings and let them be the work. There is no need to repeat the drawings. This leaves me space to try new things, I am experimenting with panels painted in one colour. The important decisions will be in the colour chosen, the size and layout of the panels. The work will investigate space in a new way for me. I am excited about the way the panels will affect the space. Also, thinking about panels has lead to me noticing panels day to day, some of these I will photograph as part of my research. Photography is something I have not wanted to use in my work as I hate to draw or paint from photographs. I believe strongly in working from life. Now though, I will be photographing for the sake of the photograph.
